X-rays are generally taken once a year to monitor small changes in the oral cavity to catch problems in their earliest stages. Your dentist and dental hygienist use them to detect cavities, monitor bone levels, determine the condition of fillings, crowns, root canals, and develop a baseline to evaluate your oral health.

Nomad X-ray System
At Lexington Dental Care, we take pride in our progressive approach to care and do our best to provide you with the most up-to-date procedures and equipment. In March 2013 we introduced the hand-held Nomad x-ray system to our practice. This advanced technology allows the operator to be in the room with the patient while ensuring safety for both parties. Incorporating this system into our practice has decreased time spent taking x-rays and makes the procedure much more comfortable for the patient. We encourage you to review the link below for more information regarding the Nomad x-ray system.
